Privacy policy
What we collect when you ask us for a quote, what we do with it, and how to get a copy of it or have it deleted.

What this covers
This policy applies to advancewaterproofing.com.au and to the enquiries, jobs and reports we handle for our customers. We are a waterproofing contractor, not an advertising business - we collect what we need to quote the work and carry it out, and we would rather not hold anything else.
What we collect
When you send us an enquiry, you give us:
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- The address of the property the work is at.
- Your company and industry, if you tell us.
- Whatever you write in the notes.
You can also attach files - photographs of the problem, a strata report, plans, a scope of works. Those sometimes carry other people’s details: a contract with names on it, a report that names a resident, a photograph with someone in frame. We treat everything in an upload the same way we treat the rest of your enquiry, and we would rather you took out what is not relevant to the leak before you send it.
Separately, our hosting keeps ordinary server logs - which page was requested, when, from what browser and network address. They exist so the site can be kept secure and working, and for nothing else.
What we do with it
- Reply to you and quote the work.
- Carry out the job, order the materials, and issue invoices, reports and warranties.
- Keep a record of what was done, which we need in order to stand behind it.
- Contact you about that job afterwards.
We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing unless you have asked for it.
Cookies, and what we count.
If we have sent you a link to a private report, a session cookie keeps you signed in to it while you read. It is gone when you close the tab.
The other kind is Google Analytics. It sets two cookies, _ga and one beginning _ga_, and it tells us which pages get read, roughly where in the world the reader is, and which page someone came in on. We use it to work out which of these pages are worth writing more of.
We also use PostHog, which counts the same sort of thing and can replay how a page was used - useful for working out where a form is going wrong. Anything typed into a form is blanked out before the recording is stored, so what you enter is not part of it.
No advertising pixels, and nothing that follows you around other websites. We do not sell any of it, and we have not connected it to an ad account. If you would rather not be counted, Google’s own opt-out add-on switches it off for every site you visit, and “do not track” or a content blocker will stop it here.
How long we keep it
For as long as we need it - to do the work, to stand behind it afterwards, and to meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations. After that we delete it, or strip out whatever identifies you. If you want yours gone sooner, ask us.
Keeping it safe
Enquiries, photographs and job records sit behind a login, and access is limited to the people who need it to do the work. Uploaded files are stored privately - they are reached through links that are signed and expire, not public addresses that can be guessed or shared on.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email info@advancewaterproofing.com.au and we will come back to you. There is no charge, and we may need to check who you are before we hand anything over.
If you are not happy
Tell us first - email us or call 03 9001 7788 and we will look into it. If we cannot resolve it between us, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when what we do changes, and the date at the top will change with it.
